This dress have been waiting almost 1 year to be made! From the day I bought the fabric on sales last summer to last week when I finally stitched the last button, I knew exactly this blue floral border print would make a great Camí dress (even if at the time the Camí pattern didn’t even have a name, it was just a sketch).
I’m glad I made it as it’s a great summer dress. I wore it to the sea shore last weekend and it was perfect for the weather.
I had some fun with the floral stripes and decided to use them verticaly on the bodice (to follow the button placket) and horizontaly on the skirt and sleeves to use the larger border for the hem.
I found some exemple on Pinterest (I even considered a chevron pattern but didn’t know where to place it).
And some behind-the-scene picture for fun (making sure I don’t have lipstick on my teeth before the photo):

y la modelo, of course!
besos,
¡Muchas gracias Julia!
Such a lovely dress and you've use the print on the fabric so cleverly 🙂 Ps. I adore that bag! 🙂
Thanks Fooniks! I'm happy summer is back so I can wear that bag again 😉
Te ha quedado un vestido precioso! Tengo que repetir el cami, es un patrón muy chulo. Besos guapa
El Camí es el patrón que más he repetido, es mi vestido básico. Espero verte pronto con uno nuevo entonces Maider jeje
Oh my that dress is stunning! I adore white and blue and you have been so clever with the directional print!
Thanks Stevie! Blue is my favourite colour as well, so when I saw that fabric I knew I had to bring it back home.

Merci Silvia!
Beautiful – so fresh and summery. Your work with the fabric pattern is wonderful.
thank you Coco!
I love the use of the print on this. So pretty!
Thanks Helen!
That fabric is so gorgeous and works perfectly with your Cami dress. I love how you've placed the stripes on the pattern. If I happen to find a border stripe like yours I think I'll make the same dress. It has a timeless retro feel about it.
Thanks! I have another border print waiting for the same pattern (even if border prints go well with any kind of gathered skirts like that). They're not so easy to find so when I find a good one, I buy it, even if I don't have a project in mind. You never know…
Such a nice dress! When will I be able to buy the printed pattern?
Thanks! The patterns are at the printer at the moment and the new shop page is on its way. I'm hoping that at the end of the month you'll be able to buy the printed version (fingers crossed!).
really beautiful! you did great job with that fabric
Thanks!
What a lovely dress, the use of the print is inspiring.
Thank you Lizzie! Pinterest is to thank for the idea…
This is so gorgeous, I adore how you've used the border print and placement. And beautiful backgrounds for your photoshoot.
Thanks! The boat was asking to be in the background 😉
Nice work with the stripes & border placement! I can get a little bit overwhelmed with all the options with stripes so I usually just end up playing it safe & go for horizontal! Looks like it was the perfect day to be out & about strolling around the harbour 🙂
Thanks Jenny! I was going to play it safe at the beginning but I felt the fabric deserved something special. Oh yeah, the day was so nice! That's what I love about living on the Mediterranean coast, the weather is perfect ; )
This is gorgeous! I love the border print – definately sewing inspiration!
Cómo me gusta este patrón Pauline, a mi también me gustaría repetirlo porque el resultado es muy bueno.
Besitos.
Great version again!
Pauline this is so beautiful!! The perfect use of that gorgeous border print
